Life By Design Podcast
January 31st was Bell Canada's #bellletstalk day.

The purpose of the day is to talk about something that ALL of us are far too familiar with... mental health, and more specifically 'mental' disease.

Do yourself a favor and search the hashtag #bellletstalk and read all the amazing stories of bravery, courage, and survival in the face of the most horrifying of opponents, your abyss.

As comforting as it is to read the heroic efforts of individuals who continue to survive against increasing odds there is one thing we think is unacceptable and is rarely seen on #bellletstalk day - solutions.

It is true that awareness is the first step to solving a problem. However, there is a massive gap between knowing about the problem of mental health and solving that problem.

We want to help solve the problem.

The purpose of this podcast is to discuss mental health and help give tips and practical strategies to help improve yours no matter your starting point.

What we cover:
  • There is a vast difference between creating health and fighting disease. The gap is the largest in the field of mental health/psychology.  Since bad ideas result in 'bad' actions, if you're ever truly going to get a grasp on mental 'health,' it's vital to start here. The difference between creating health and just not getting sick is a big one.
  • Your brain, mind and body do not exist in a vacuum isolated from one another - they coexist. If you can positively influence one, by default, you can positively influence the other one. It's impossible to say my body's healthy, it's just my mind that's not. Healthy means all or none. You are not three separate things but one combined whole.
  • Real life, scientifically based strategies you can start to do right now that will positively impact your mental health no matter where you're starting from.
