It’s common (and with good cause) to be seeing a lot of self-help articles pop-up around this time of year.
 
Most of them are well meaning, full of good intentions and could produce solid results.
 
BUT...

There is a big problem with self help, that if not addressed, will derail all your efforts.

This is far from an anti-medical episode… we’ve never been anti-medical.
 
One of the ways that our medical friends attack chiropractic is by calling it dangerous and unscientific. Another is by using outrageous and untrue FEAR tactics.

This past week the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that nitrated meat was a class one carcinogen.
 
This means that eating nitrated meat (salami, hotdogs, cold cuts, bacon, sausages) are as cancer causing as smoking, alcohol and asbestos.

Creating a lean, strong beautiful physic is STILL the most common reason that you get involved in training and exercise.
 
I will not pretend for one second that this is NOT the same reason I got involved in training. I wanted to have a muscular body because I thought it would help attract more ladies…
 
I still think, in some circumstance, it can be an awesome goal.
 
But there is one massive problem… MOST women who are working really hard to change their body image are doing it the wrong way.
 
More cardio, less weight training… this is not the way to create the body that you want.
 
What you will learn:
 
1) The one type of training you absolutely MUST be doing to add muscle and burn fat in the LONG run, not just the short term.
2) A little experiment you can do to prove to yourself that more cardio does not equal the best body.
3) The science of your body… how your muscles tone, how your metabolism works and how to lose weight.
4) What you need to start DOING to get results.
5) The importance of intensity - “If you don’t challenge yourself; you won’t CHANGE yourself."

Chiropractic has come under the attack of the "anti-sciencetific” scientists. The ones who pretend to be on the side of facts and truth but who like to bring you the absolutely most illogical, unscientific absurdities that a 2 year old could dismantle with the proper mental training.
 
This behaviour is RAMPANT in the health care world… so please watch out for it…

On this week’s podcast we look at the life, more importantly the death, of Linds Redding. 
 
Linds was a famous art director in New Zealand who unfortunately died of esophageal cancer at the young age of 52.
 
The reason this is valuable to you, is because Linds lived his life how we were all taught to live… by sacrificing. He kept a very telling journal that highlighted just how empty and unhappy this life of sacrifice was.

This idea of ‘your diet being a cult’ is ridiculous… and harmful.
 
It’s harmful becuase many people who are looking into a diet could be turned off by someone calling it a cult. They might be thinking to themselves… “I don’t want to be in a cult.” I just want to get healthier.
 
A diet is simply a way of eating. Nothing more, nothing less…

Despite CrossFit being an overwhelming success and phenomenon, with people joining the CrossFit community everyday. CrossFit still has it’s share of haters and people who try their best to discredit it.

‘Overtraining’ is one of those attempts.
 
Of course overtraining is real and it exists… but does every CrossFitter engage in overtraining?

Earlier this week there was an article published and presented claiming that the benefits of Fish Oil are not as great as ‘we’ once thought. On the chopping-block was heart disease and many other conditions. Whether this is true or false...is there another reason to take Fish Oil?
